i am a certified trauma health professional, mindfulness + yoga therapist / teacher trainer/founder of Yoga NRG & mindfulness training australia & have been an rn for over thirty years. i love working 1:1 with people from all over the world. you will also find me dedicated to my group teacher trainings and grass roots class at Moffat Beach , Sunshine Coast australia – where people come to practice in person or tune into via zoom.

Obstacles Are The Path
Everyone regardless of who they are will hit obstacles at some stage in their life. Whether it be the loss of a loved one, a health issue, a separation or a divorce, feeling challenged at work or feeling stuck in a career that is unfulfilling.
Obstacles related to current or past situations, that have caused anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation or a sense of overwhelm.
There are ways to overcome obstacles and turn our “triggers” into our best Teachers and realise sensitivities can become our biggest strength. There are Mindful Tools that can help with feeling connected again, feeling more content & confident to move forward in our personal or professional lives.
Outer conditions are always changing , just like the surf. Learning to become adaptable to change and create a Mindful Toolkit to live life with more quality is one of the best things you can do for your own Mental Health and for those you love.

What Led Me To This Work
Working as a Nurse since 1994 and going on to specialise in Clinical Nursing , Health Promotion & ATOD (Alcohol Tobacco & Other Drugs ) Prevention, Mental Health, High Dependency – I developed a passion for Mindfulness, Yoga & Complementary Medicine. I found an integrative approach to be one of the most effective ways to heal my own back pain & manage things like grief & loss (especially working as a nurse) along with ways to improve movement disorders, resolve unwanted symptoms of PMD and approach life more simply instead of making it more complex than what it needed to be.
I noticed the value in combining both the cognitive & the physical therapies and this was something that was effective in helping others deal with different forms of pain and process their own life events. I began consulting to Private Recovery Programs, Retreats, & Rehabilitation Programs, Hospitals, Schools, EAS for the QLD Police Force and the like, to deliver training or one on one Coaching in Mindfulness Based Personal & Professional Development and this background is what highly influenced the way in which I delivered Yoga Programs.
I went on to open Yoga NRG & Mindfulness Training Australia , a Mindfulness & Yoga Teacher Training School Based on the Sunshine Coast which primarily focuses on Mindfulness Based approaches & integrating these tools into Modern Day Fitness. It included an Outreach Service supporting those in remote and regional areas (to fulfil a yearning desire I have to give back to those in more isolated areas like I was once) with little access to these amazing resources & trainings.
Although many initially came to learn more about Yoga or to Teach , what they walked away with in addition to being Certified to Teach Yoga or Mindfulness, was a new level of Self Awareness and Insight. Through this process there is an opportunity to feel into the areas where their mind maybe tripping them up or causing further stress. Through the Mentoring Program there is also an opportunity to build a personalised Mindful Toolkit for to draw on professionally & personally regardless of the type of career or role they are in.
The reason for the success of these programs & their longevity is due to having put in the time and ongoing effort to do the inner work. To invest (alot) in travelling all over the world to study in person with Doctors, Authors & Yoga/Meditation Teachers who also have a passion for the Neuro-science behind Yoga & Meditation and who to have dedicated a large portion of their life to the Yogic or Mindfulness Sciences or Traditions.

How Mindfulness Helps
Mindfulness teaches us how to deal with triggers of all kinds – unfairness, feeling cheated, feeling judged, being cheated on. It also teaches us how to cultivate and enjoy the good!
It helps us build wisdom to see past the initial negativity bias the mind has from years of conditioning. It inspires us to ask better questions. To serve or spend our time wisely by putting your energy into what you are ‘for’ not getting mentally fatigue-fighting what you are against. I have a great deal of respect & sensitivity towards those whose minds feel like a prison at times Whether it’s from experiencing mild or significant Trauma, burnout from trying to do it all, look after others, or simply forgetting to fill your cup before you do the thousand and one things you are so passionate about!

I’m not quite sure where to start as this could be an essay or a long list about all the ways mindfulness training has helped me subtly and profoundly. I have learnt so much from Tammy. She teaches directly, but what is so empowering is that she teaches you how to find the answers yourself, as well as having an ability to hold space with tricky emotions. She doesn’t jump in to ‘fix’ things. She asks questions and allows you to reflect. In my case, often the things I imagine need fixing, don’t even need it. I just need to sit with them instead. I’ve also got to know some of the other teachers through the courses I’ve done and also attended their yoga classes.
