having had a foot in both camps (the western medicine & eastern approaches) I’ve seen why it is useful to work with both “top down” evidenced based cognitive approaches & bottom up (body focused) modalities like yoga and various forms of mindful movement. 

either approach in isolation does not work as well as it could without the other. often we need a regulated nervous system for the cognitive therapies to work. we also need understanding & insight to create long lasting change. 

this is why mindfulness based YOGA & integrative approaches is DIFFERENT TO only ‘TALK THERAPY’ OR SITTING STILL MEDITATING THINKING YOU NEED TO STOP YOUR THOUGHTS.
